Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has excluded the selectors and Indian cricket team management under the chairmanship of head coach Gautam Gambhir for not encouraging out-of-form players and youth to play warm-up matches in England after the Lord’s Test.
The Indian cricket team is currently lagging behind 1-2 in the five-match Test series after the 22-run defeat in the third Test against England at Lord’s. Apart from Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, no batsman has shown fire in the ongoing test series so far.

With a full eight-day break between Lord’s and Manchester Tests, some struggling players such as Yashsvi Jaywal and Karun Nair, and young guns on England’s visit to England were a clear window to get very important match practice before the Do-or Dai Test starting on July 23.

However, no such match was arranged, which surprised Sunil Gavaskar, especially with the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy running on the line, as there is just one win from lifting the host trophy. In particular, India has not won a Test series in England since 2007.
