The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India national cricket team for the upcoming one-off Test against the Afghanistan national cricket team.

The Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee met in Guwahati on Tuesday, May 19, to finalize the squad for the one-off Test as well as the ODI series against Afghanistan. Notably, the Test match will not be a part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

India vs Afghanistan one-off Test: Schedule and head-to-head record
The one-off Test between India and Afghanistan will begin from June 6 at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. The match is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM IST and will be Afghanistan’s second Test against the India national cricket team.
India and Afghanistan have played only one Test match against each other so far. The match took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in June 2018, where the India national cricket team registered a dominant innings and 262-run victory within two days. Shikhar Dhawan scored 107 runs in just 96 balls, while Murali Vijay scored 105 runs, helping India score 474 runs in the first innings.
After being forced to follow on, Afghanistan were all out for 109 runs in the first innings and 103 runs in the second innings. Ravichandran Ashwin took four wickets in the first innings, while Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets in the second innings to give India a big win.
