Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif shared his views on the future of veteran batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Kaif said that whenever the two legends retire, talented youngsters like Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have the ability to take Indian cricket forward on the global stage.

Ishan Kishan impresses during India’s 3-0 ODI win over Afghanistan
Ishan Kishan impressed with the bat during India’s ODI series against Afghanistan. Returning to the ODI team for the first time since the end of 2023, he performed impressively with the bat and scored 159 runs at a remarkable strike rate in two innings.
During the first ODI in Dharamshala, Ishan Kishan scored a quick 34 runs in 22 balls with the help of three fours and a six. After this, he played a brilliant innings in Lucknow and scored 125 runs in 79 balls with the help of 14 fours and seven sixes against Afghanistan.
He made a big partnership of 224 runs with Shubman Gill. However, Ishan did not get a chance to bat in the final ODI in Chennai as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma comfortably chased down the target of 219 runs for the loss of just one wicket.
Virat Kohli returns for England ODI, India announces 15-man squad
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-member team. For the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, which will be played from July 14 to July 19. This series will serve as another important step in India’s preparations for future ICC events.
Virat Kohli has returned to the team after missing the recent ODI series against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury. However, his participation in the England series is subject to fitness clearance. The selectors will closely monitor his recovery before taking a final decision.
