Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta chose Ishan Kishan over Jos Buttler as he blindly ranked several players based on their performances in IPL 2026.

Deep Dasgupta was recently seen in an interview with ESPNcricinfo, where he was challenged to blindly rank among eight batsmen named by the presenter. Although not intentionally, Dasgupta got into a big trouble because of his choice.
Dasgupta was very keen to fill all his spots at the top of the table, and so he chose three Indian batsmen for his top three spots. Ishan Kishan was on top in the list of his three players.
However, he ran into a big trouble when his eighth spot in the list was vacant and Jos Buttler was named as the last player in the set. Later he wanted to bring about a change in the form of Naman Dheer, who he believed did not really deserve the fourth position.

Deep Dasgupta ranks young Angkrish Raghuvanshi among top 3 batsmen in IPL 2026
Deep Dasgupta took some bold decisions as he believed that Angkrish Raghuvanshi performed well for Kolkata Knight Riders and his run-scoring streak was a great achievement. Angkrishna was a part of KKR’s success throughout this season.
Raghuvanshi has been playing for Kolkata Knight Riders since 2024 and has scored 722 runs in the last two seasons. While he scored 300 runs in the 2025 season, he looked to be in even better form as he scored 422 runs this season before being ruled out due to a shoulder injury.
Raghuvanshi was ranked third in the blind rankings by Deep Dasgupta behind Devdutt Padikkal, who was ranked second. Padikkal has played many important innings for RCB this season; However, their contributions have often not taken the shape of major milestones.

Ishan Kishan may have been a special player in the IPL for many seasons; However, this season would remain his most memorable season with the bat. He was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a hefty price of Rs 11 crore but had a mixed season in 2025.
He returned with further excellence and scored 602 runs by the end of the season. In this season of IPL, he scored runs at a tremendous strike rate of 182.42 and also scored six half-centuries.
Kishan also led Jharkhand to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in 2025 and then made a comeback into the Indian team, leading them to a massive victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, where he emerged as their second-highest scorer.
