India vs Pakistan controversy will be a never ending show in the cricket world. After dropping his prediction on India, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir said that the Men in Blue will not qualify for the semi-finals of the 2026 T20 World Cup. However, last Sunday, India defeated West Indies by 5 wickets in a must-win match to qualify for the Last Four at the Eden Gardens.
Ahead of the Indian national cricket team taking on the England national cricket team in the T20 World Cup semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has launched a verbal attack on the Pakistan fast bowler while responding to his prediction.
He does all this work – Mohammad Kaif
Mohammad Amir predicted that Suryakumar Yadav’s team will lose the Super 8 match against West Indies in Kolkata and be eliminated from the competition. Kaif, in response, asked Aamir whether he really thought that India would be out of the tournament.
Kaif also said on his YouTube channel that Mohammad Aamir had made this prediction only to attract the attention of the media, especially the Indian media, and his words should not be given much importance.

Mohammad Kaif said, “Did Aamir really not know that India would reach the semi-finals? He also knew that the defending champion would reach. But because it would become news, that is why he does all this. We should not give him importance. There is no need for us to come to his level and answer.”
His [Mohammad Amir] The ball did not hit the stumps – Kaif
Mohammad Kaif also took a dig at Mohammad Aamir’s performance against America in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Since Mohammad Aamir gave away 18 runs in the Super Over, Pakistan failed to win the match against the Associate Nations.
He further added, “The reason they lost against USA in 2024 was because of that bowler. There was only one four in that over, but there were a lot of wides. His ball did not even hit the stumps. Who got scared against that USA team and lost his team the game, so I have nothing more to say.”
The cricketer turned commentator also criticized Aamir and his country, saying that one need not focus on what he says. They themselves do not have any strong cricketer or captain who can reach the level of Indian cricketers.
“Why are we focusing on that? A country that is so far behind in the game, they don’t have any players, no solid captain, or no solid bowlers, nothing. Just let them be. We don’t need to talk about everything they do. They can’t come to our level. They have different problems. If we focus on their comments, it seems like we are giving them importance, and that’s what they want anyway.”
Pakistani players fined for not reaching semi-finals
Pakistan players were fined PKR 5 million (about US$18,000) each by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the team failed to qualify for the semi-finals and were eliminated from the tournament at the Super 8 stage.
Responding to this, Kaif said, “Every country’s way of working is different. Pakistan can never become India. Our way of playing is different, the policies are different. The platform and support we give to the players in IPL, our system, NCA, Under-19, everything is different.”
