After Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was caught vaping inside the dressing room, now former Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary has issued a big warning for the young captain. He has warned them against the use of cameras, so that such activities cannot remain hidden.
After finishing last season in a humiliating ninth place, Rajasthan Royals have taken a fresh lead in this edition of the competition. The Royals have a new set of owners, a futuristic mentor and a new captain as they start the new season with a revamped team.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been the two big names with the bat in this edition, and the Royals have got a new star finisher in Donovan Ferreira. Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi have been the two superstars with the ball.
Riyan Parag’s vaping controversy and BCCI’s official investigation on RR captain
Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag has been involved in such activities in the past as well which have caused him to face major trouble, but they were outside the stadium and did not fall under any illegality. However, this time the young player’s reckless lifestyle may cause trouble for him as well as the franchise.
After getting out in the crucial game, where his team was chasing a huge target, Parag, probably out of possible worry, was seen screaming inside the dressing room. This led to massive violations of the PECA Act of 2019.
BCCI also informed that they will conduct an internal investigation and seek clarification from young player Riyan Parag. He also informed that based on these clarifications, the IPL committee will take its next action.
Anil Choudhary warns Riyan Parag on use of cameras where personal space is limited only to toilets
After the incident occurred, the reputation of the captain and his team, Rajasthan Royals, has been massively affected. Former Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary has now made an honest revelation on this matter.
Former Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary says, “I think it is an administrative issue and I don’t know the legal aspects, but there will definitely be government rules and other regulations.”
He then added, “Sometimes these cameras can go anywhere, so all the players should be very careful. These are young boys; they don’t know that sometimes they can be caught anywhere other than the toilet, so the boys should be careful.”
Lastly, he said that there should be pure entertainment on TV and everyone should discuss sports instead of speaking about other things that are not directly related to sports.
Despite improvement in captaincy, Riyan Parag’s poor batting form continues
Riyan Parag’s form in IPL 2026 has been a matter of major concern for Rajasthan Royals. The captain has scored 119 runs in 8 matches of the season, out of which he remained not out only once.
Furthermore, Parag has not managed to play a single 30+ innings in this edition of the competition and has failed to deliver when he needed to deliver aggressive performances for his team. He struggled to maintain the pace of the innings during the first innings and did not support RR’s chase in the second innings.
However, quite the contrary, his form as captain of the RR team has been very impressive. Leading them in 9 matches this season, they have won six matches and are currently third on the points table with 12 points and are just a few wins away from sealing a place in the playoffs.
