Rohit Sharma silenced his critics by scoring a brilliant century in the third and final ODI against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Sunday. The India captain scored 138 runs in just 110 balls and hit 17 fours and five sixes in his innings. This amazing inning of his also put an end to the speculations of retirement.
Many former cricketers have praised Rohit Sharma’s innings, the latest name of which is former India batsman Abhinav Mukund. The former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener praised Rohit’s innings and termed him one of the greatest cricketers of all time.

Speaking on Cricinfo, Abhinav Mukund shared his views on Rohit Sharma’s innings and described the innings as one of the best innings under pressure by the former India captain. Although India lost the match, Rohit’s innings answered all the questions about his form and future in ODI cricket.
“I think that’s what Rohit Sharma is proud of and that’s why he will go down in our game as one of the greatest players to ever play the game. And under pressure, a lot of people grow and pressure brings out the best. I think it was a statement that came at a time when a lot of rumors were spreading.”

Abhinav Mukund wants clarity on Rohit Sharma’s future
Despite Rohit’s record-breaking innings, Abhinav Mukund feels that his future is still not safe due to the lack of clarity from the Team India management towards the former captain, as the rumors of him not playing the ODI World Cup 2027 will not stop until his place is properly sealed or there is clarity on his future.
“This question will keep coming up until there is some clarity from the management or even from Rohit Sharma’s side as to whether I will continue playing till 2027 or not. This issue will not rest until there is proper clarity and it will be sealed with an envelope.”
England gave a crushing defeat to India in the third ODI.
Talking about the match, India lost the final match by 27 runs and lost the series 1-2. England won the toss and chose to bat first and posted a mammoth total of 388 runs, with Ben Duckett scoring a brilliant 141 and Jacob Bethell scoring 91, with the final touch provided by Joe Root (74*) and Jos Buttler (41*).
Shubman Gill and Rohit gave a solid start for India. Gill was out for 77 and Virat Kohli made 74 on his likely final tour of England. India’s middle order failed to score runs and their score read 360/7.
Now the Men in Blue again shift to T20Is as they visit Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I tour starting on Thursday.
