Former CSK fast bowler set to join KKR for IPL 2026

According to the latest revelations, former Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Simarjeet Singh will replace Harshit Rana in the Kolkata Knight Riders camp after the Indian pacer was ruled out of the competition due to his late return from injury.

Harshit Rana gradually emerged as the premier Indian fast bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders between 2024 and 2025. He was a part of KKR’s winning team of 2024 and also took 15 wickets for the Knight Riders the following season.

His stellar performance in the IPL for the Knight Riders soon earned him a call to Team India. He has represented India in all three formats of the game. At such a young age, he has already won the Champions Trophy and Asia Cup with India; If he had not been out due to injury, his numbers in the T20 World Cup would have increased further.

KKR announces Harshit Rana’s replacement for IPL 2026

Kolkata Knight Riders are already uncertain about the participation of their big-invest fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana due to an injury he suffered during the ICC T20 World Cup. However, choosing Rana’s replacement was difficult.

Harshit Rana suffered a serious injury during the practice match against South Africa, resulting in Mohammed Siraj replacing him in the Indian squad for the World Cup. Now, KKR has named former CSK fast bowler Simarjeet Singh as his replacement for the upcoming season.

The Kolkata Knight Riders management has reportedly called a number of bowlers, six of whom have been called for the bowling trials and Simarjeet is understood to be the frontrunner.
