India breaks Australia’s record for most borders in a test chain
India has set a record for the most boundaries in a test chain, breaking 470 in 10 innings. He hit 422 fours and 48 sixes, crossing the previous record of 460 set by Australia during the 1993 ash. The milestone reached 3 days of the final test at the Oval.
This is also the first time India has crossed the 400-boundary mark in a single test series, breaking its previous 384 set in 1964. He ended a record which was unbreakable for six decades.
Shubman Gill was the leading border for India, hitting 85 fours and 12 sixes in 10 innings. KL Rahul broke 69 fours, while Ravindra Jadeja added 53 borders and sixth sixes. Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed 63 fours and four sixes in his tally.
