Finn Allen made a explosive start to Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) run chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with 4, 4, 6, 6, 4. In the first over of the second innings, New Zealand batsman scored 25 runs from David Payne’s over.
To chase the mammoth target of 227 runs, KKR needed a solid start from its opening pair. Allen and his captain Ajinkya Rahane both played good innings in the first match of the ongoing IPL 2026 season against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
25 runs were scored from the first over, the credit for this went to Finn Allen.
In their first home match, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, expectations from them were very high. This is the same ground where the New Zealand batsman scored a century in 33 balls for his country in the T20 World Cup 2026. As soon as Finn Allen entered the pitch, he tried to drive at maximum speed.
