Speaking during the team’s training camp in Lahore, the Pakistan captain stressed that the T20 format is so unpredictable, so focusing on just one match could be dangerous. She wants her team to be fully prepared for the entire tournament and not get distracted only by the India game.

Fatima Sana said this while talking to the media on the sidelines of a training camp in Lahore, quoting India. Aaj: “Obviously, we are well prepared, and the World Cup is an event in which every match is important. Also, T20 cricket is such that anything can change rapidly. So, we are not waiting for any specific match.”

Also, Fatima knows how special the India vs Pakistan match is for the fans. The rivalry always creates a big stir, and emotions run high whenever the two teams meet on the field. He said, “As everyone knows, it is a good match between India and Pakistan, so God willing, we will try to play well.”

However, the statistics are clearly in India’s favor in women’s T20 cricket. Since 2009, the two sides have played 16 T20 matches, of which India has won 13. Even in the Women’s T20 World Cup, India’s women’s national cricket team is ahead of Pakistan’s women’s national cricket team by a margin of 6-2.

Pakistan ready for tough group competition

Ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan will play a triangular series against the Ireland women’s national cricket team and the West Indies women’s national cricket team in Dublin.
