A mixed tenure under John Lewis for UP Warriz
Under the guidance of Lewis, UP Warrier experienced a ups and downs in a highly competitive WPL. The league opening in the 2023 season, Lewis successfully placed the team in the playoffs, a significant achievement for a new franchise. The 2024 season saw a slight decline in the performance, in which UP Warrier finished fourth in the points table, disappeared from a playoff spot. This indicated the increasing intensity in the league and the need for frequent top level performances. The most recent WPL 2025 campaign proved to be particularly challenging for warrior. With regular captain Elisa Hely Due to knee injury, India’s off-spin bowling all-rounder Deepti Sharma took a step to lead the side. Despite Sharma’s leadership, the team struggled to find the rhythm and ended at the bottom of the table, marking a disappointing end for Lewis’s tenure.
