Second test in Delhi has seen India assert overwhelming dominance against west indiesPutting them on the brink of a series sweep. Known for its strong batting and sharp bowling, this match was largely script-based for the home team. However, a moment of personal rashness by the opener Yashasvi Jaiswal On the fourth day his superiority was briefly threatened to be eclipsed.
IND vs WI: Yashasvi Jaiswal got out carelessly in the second innings
Jaiswal’s time at the crease in India’s second innings was short and ended in an example of avoidable carelessness, leading to what should have been a simple, confident innings to seal a series-clinching victory. Chasing a target of just 121 runs, the young opener was out after scoring only 8 runs, attempting a mistimed aerial shot early in the chase. He came on to pitch for the left-arm spinner jomel warricanAim to give a full and flattering delivery at the top.
Jaiswal completely misjudged the shot, failing to get the ball down properly, resulting in a wrong stroke. The ball remained slightly below the bat, making it an easy opportunity for the fielder positioned in the deep. Anderson PhillipDeployed at long-on, he took the catch comfortably, sending the Indian opener back to the pavilion, much to the dismay of the home crowd. Considering the simplicity of the goal and the non-threatening match situation, the aggressive choice of going for a big, unnecessary hit was universally considered a serious lapse in judgement. Jaiswal’s departure was an unfortunate reminder that a change in mindset is sometimes necessary even when chasing a low target.
Here’s how fans reacted:
what a fool jaiswal is #INDvsWI He lacked respect for the opposition

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the Bumrah of batting, just as Bumrah takes wickets of tailenders, Jaiswal mainly scores against weaker teams on flat pitches. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill is the Siraj of batting, just as Siraj takes wickets of top-order batsmen, Gill scores runs against strong teams.

Now, now, what we have here, Jaiswal goes to Sla Warrican on the very first ball and is gone. The chase was spiced up.

Jaiswal will do anything for an extra day off

Why did he inspire Jaiswal to play aggressively and why did he do so today?
Seriously, your understanding of strategy and gameplay is rubbish#INDvWI– Krishu (@AdityaScion) 13 October 2025
Flat track bully Jaiswal was out for 8 runs. Never underperform when it counts. If West Indies can take 3 or 4 more wickets before 50, they have a chance, although that is unlikely to happen.

Jaiswal was out after scoring 8 runs.
Always fail while chasing runs and putting the team under pressure.
Can’t he play sensible cricket and avoid false shots? Why does he always have to play with his ego and ego?-Vic (@Vishavj24049960) 13 October 2025
What was that Jaiswal, he hit me straight in the hands

This is what happens when you learn from Rohit how brain dead Jaiswal hits long on. This is not the Jaiswal I know. Now I understood why someone had called Jaiswal a blind slacker.

Why Jaiswal, why? What is the hurry? There is no NRR in WTC.
