Shubman Gill, called the bran by cricket fans after his poor form in the final in Ahmedabad, continues to suffer another early dismissal in the IPL 2026 final.
Gujarat Titans qualified for the IPL 2026 final on the back of a strong batting line-up, which is supported by their top three batsmen. Shubman Gill has been one of the key players who has promised GT fans some thrills throughout the season.
Shubman Gill was out early after his match-winning century in the qualifiers.
Shubman Gill almost single-handedly took Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2026 final with his mammoth century in Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. When Gill said that he would prefer to bat at the toss, it gave another sense of confidence within the GT fans.
The GT captain also had a brilliant start to the innings with a beautiful cover drive off Bhuvneshwar Kumar and a down-the-pitch jab against Josh Hazlewood. However, the jab could not help Hazlewood reach the boundary for the second time in the over.
It was turned in the air and RCB captain Rajat Patidar, who knew the importance of this wicket, made no mistake in completing a good catch.

Shubman Gill was out on 10 in the IPL 2026 final, and his Gujarat Titans opening partner Sai Sudarshan followed him into the dugout on just 12. With this he ended his run-scoring saga in IPL 2026.
Shubman Gill is second on the Orange Cap leaderboard with 732 runs in the season, while Sudarshan finished with 722 runs in the season, his second consecutive IPL season with 700+ runs.

I hardly remember Shubman Gill making any notable or match-winning contribution in the final
