This season has been full of ups and downs for Delhi Capitals, especially with the bat. At times he has scored in huge quantities, like in his last match at the same venue, the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where he scored the highest score in this edition of the IPL.
Just two days ago, KL Rahul, who top-scored for Delhi Capitals at this venue, scored an unbeaten 152*, the most individual runs for any batsman for India, and now he is out after scoring just one run while the team is struggling in the dugout with less than 10 runs on the board.
Delhi Capitals have once again suffered a terrible collapse in the top order and captain Axar Patel has once again failed to add anything to the team’s total with the bat.
Axar Patel disappoints in another batting collapse for Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals captain has quite the reputation as an all-rounder and has showcased his spin-bowling ability extensively in the last season of the IPL. However, the Indian World Cup winner’s form has been inconsistent with the bat.
Continuing his disappointing form in 2026, Axar came out to bat as Delhi Capitals struggled against Royal Challengers Bangalore with four wickets falling within the first 15 balls of their batting innings.
Axar played two balls with great discomfort and was challenged by Bhuvneshwar Kumar at every opportunity. However, he could not avoid taking a wicket on the third ball of Bhuvneshwar and it was the veteran bowler’s third wicket of the night.
