Ryan Rickelton scored his maiden IPL century and it was a memorable one as it came right when Mumbai Indians needed it the most. He not only scored a century but also broke Tilak Verma’s record of fastest century in IPL for Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians were a must-win game as they returned to their home ground at the Wankhede Stadium, a venue where they have done most of their run-scoring. However, in the last game at this venue, the batsmen had collapsed while chasing the target against Chennai Super Kings, and hence, the team needed its batsmen to regain their form.
Ryan Rickelton scored the fastest century of IPL for Mumbai Indians.
Ryan Rickelton returned to the Mumbai Indians playing eleven after Quinton de Kock was ruled out of the competition due to a wrist injury. Returning to the batting field in Mumbai against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rickelton looked like a man on a mission.
He began his carnage with Praful Hinge’s second over at the start of the powerplay, and backed by a promising start from the other end by Will Jacques, Rickelton batted with ease and got off to a flyer. He took it forward from there and scored the fastest century for Mumbai Indians in the history of the season.

Rickelton and Hardik Pandya’s useful partnership helps MI in the death overs
Rickelton was batting at his best when the wicket of Naman Dheer fell and captain Hardik Pandya once again came to the crease ahead of Tilak Verma, who is in better form than the captain.
However, Rickelton mustered some energy and brought up his maiden century with Hardik Pandya looking at his best, striking the ball with some authority for the first time this season.
Pandya scored 31 runs from 14 balls before being dismissed by young Saqib Hussain as he tried to launch him to the long-off boundary but was caught by Liam Livingstone.
