Mohammed Shami bowled another brilliant spell in the second game for the LSG team, and fans once again supported the star Indian fast bowler and criticized the Indian head coach and selector for not selecting him in the team.
Shami bowled fast in the first game for Lucknow Super Giants, where he took the important wicket of experienced batsman KL Rahul. After that dismissal, he gave LSG a good chance to make a comeback in the contest.
He performed excellently, as he did not concede runs at an economy rate of more than 7. Mohammed Shami bowled brilliantly as he did not concede more than 28 runs against Delhi Capitals.

Ace fast bowler Mohammed Shami has not been a part of the Indian team for a long time. Despite his good form, he has been consistently ignored by the Indian head coach or national selectors.
After a poor season in 2025, Shami has performed brilliantly with the ball for LSG in the first two matches. He took three wickets in two matches. Shami took two wickets in the match against SRH, where Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were dismissed by the experienced fast bowler.
Shami ended his spell with an economy of only 2.25 in the game, conceding only 9 runs after 4 overs, that too against one of the most destructive batting units of the IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH owners will be sad to release him in 2025 after a poor season.
Mohammed Shami’s fitness remains a major issue hindering his India selection.
Although Shami’s Team India selection has been one of the biggest talking points in Indian cricket for the last season or two, his injuries have been a major hurdle in his way back into the Indian team.
In the recent game against Delhi Capitals and then against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shami was seen sitting out after completing his spell. It was a deliberate move to give the 35-year-old veteran some time to rest.
If this is the truth behind Shami sitting out, it is still a major hurdle for the Indian great to make a comeback at the international level, as players are not often given this kind of freedom in international cricket.
