The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced its provisional squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February and March.
The ECB has confirmed that the England squad is set to depart on 18 January 2026 for their busy subcontinent assignment. Notably, England will play white-ball matches in Sri Lanka ahead of the showpiece event starting on February 7.

Jofra Archer, who suffered an injury during the Ashes 2025-26, has been named in the provisional T20 World Cup squad but will not travel to Sri Lanka. For the Sri Lanka series, Brydon will replace Carse before returning home during the team’s ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign.

“Sussex fast bowler Jofra Archer has been included in the provisional T20 World Cup squad but will miss the tour of Sri Lanka as he continues his rehabilitation with the England medical team after suffering a left hamstring strain during the third Ashes Test in Adelaide earlier this month,” the ECB said.
