England made an amazing call-up for the fourth test against India in Manchester, as they recalled Liam Dawson eight years later to replace the injured young spinner Shoaib Bashir. Bashir broke his left finger during England’s 22 -run win over India in the third Test at Lord’s.
Despite the injury, the young man played bravely, even took the final wicket to seal a thrilling win for England at Lord’s. But Bashir has been dropped from the fourth Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test, as he will undergo surgery this week.
Liam Dawson Set for Testing Return with England after 8 years
In the next Test, with Bashir, England have not played the Test since 2017 since 2017 for the important Manchester Test against India. Dawson was raised in front of Jack Leach, Rehan Ahmed, and Will Jack’s choice, thanks to his outstanding all-round form in county cricket.

His batting also lured the selectors to go for him. Liam Dawson recently impressed the T20I series against the West Indies. The spinner also has 371 first -class wickets, as well as 18 centuries named after him. He had earlier told the selectors of England not to consider it until he was in the playing XI, due to which he was tested for 8 years.
However, Gas Atkinson, who is recovering from the hurdrning injury, and the Josh tongue is also in the mixture for a place in the playing XI for the fourth Test against India in Old Trafford.
