Gross Islet. In its second match of the ICC T20 World Cup Super 8, South Africa has almost confirmed its place in the semi-finals by registering a thrilling win against England. England captain Jos Buttler admitted that his batsmen in the match could not show aggression like South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, whose innings made the difference between the two teams.
De Kock scored 65 runs in 38 balls due to which South Africa was successful in scoring 163 runs for six wickets. In response, the England team could score only 156 runs for six wickets. Butler said after the match, “The way De Kock batted, it really put pressure on us. He played some brilliant shots and we could not match him. I believe his innings made the difference in the match.
He said, “It was a very difficult task for us to bowl in the power play because De Kock took risks and played some excellent shots. Like I said, I think the power play performance made the difference in the match.
“The way Quinny played at the top really put us under a lot of pressure and played some great shots, and we weren’t able to match that.”
