Charlotte Edwards said in a statement by ECB, “Choosing to play for our country in the World Cup is one of the greatest honors in the game, and I am happy for all the players named in the squad. Like all the global tournaments, this will be a big challenge, but we want that we can probably play the best cricket in India,”
The coach said that he opted for an additional spinner due to the status of the expected spinning in India, highlighting the strong depth of the squad in spin bowling. He said that it was fantastic to welcome Sara Glenn for the spin attack.
