Jaiswal’s bat is talking
Unaffected by sledging, Jaiswal punished the English attack, racing a fluent in half a century with a hurry to borders. He demonstrated his trademark aggression, taking Josh tongue for three borders in a single over, before a sublime on-drive was removed from Stokes. After lunch, Jaiswal had already dropped 75 balls from 68 Not Outs, causing a boundary rope 12 times and put India in a strong position.
His partnership with Karun Nair India was stabilized after Rahul’s initial loss, in which the pair scored 80 runs for the second wicket. Nair’s dismissal took Captain Shubman Gill to the crease just before lunch, but Jaiswal remained the major force, which reached the second consecutive examination near the century.
Stokes returned with Jaiswal’s dismissal
The much awaited Stokes vs. Jaiswal’s fight reached its climax immediately after lunch. With Jaiswal at 87, set for another milestone, Stokes produced a delivery outside the off-stump, which lashed the left-handed batsman into a loose drive. Jaiswal staged the ball, and wicketkeeper Jamie Smith completed the catch. Stokes erupted at an explosive festival, clearly recalled the wicket after his first confrontation.
Jaiswal’s innings ended by scoring 87 runs off 107 balls, a knock with 13 borders that outlined his growing height, but left him less than another century. Stokes’ Jubilee was infallible, as he managed to silence the Indian opener after his hot exchange, which gave England a significant success at 161/3.
