Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry has achieved a major historic milestone during the one-off women’s Test match against India at the WACA Ground. The veteran cricketer completed 1000 runs in all three formats of the game in international cricket during the second day (Saturday, March 7) in Perth.
In Australia’s first innings, Ellyse Perry scored 76 runs in 116 balls, which included 10 fours and a six. The batsman was dismissed by all-rounder Deepti Sharma. She shared a 128-run partnership with Annabel Sutherland for the fourth wicket, allowing the home team to get closer to India’s score without losing too many wickets.

Ellyse Perry joins a very exclusive and famous list of Australian cricketers like David Warner, Steve Smith, Mitch Marsh, Shane Watson, Travis Head and Matthew Wade who have scored 1000 runs in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
Ellyse Perry is only the second female cricketer in the world to score 1000 runs in all three international formats. Former England captain Charlotte Edwards was previously the only woman to achieve this incredible record.
Ellyse Perry also became the highest run-scorer for the Australia women’s team in Test match history. She reached the top of the list, surpassing Karen Rolton’s previous record of 1002 runs. She became the 11th player overall to score 1000 runs in women’s Tests.
India all out for 198 runs at WACA
Australian captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and decided to bowl first on the grass surface. India were all out for 198 runs in 62.4 overs.
Jemimah Rodrigues was the top scorer for the visiting team, scoring 52 runs at a time when wickets were falling.
Shafali Verma added 35 runs in the top order, while Kashvi Gautam showed great fight in the lower order and contributed a total of 34 runs.
Annabel Sutherland achieved excellent bowling figures of 4/46. 19-year-old debutant Lucy Hamilton took 3/31 in her first innings in the baggy green. The left-arm fast bowler dismissed Smriti Mandhana for just four runs and later also dismissed the dangerous Rodrigues.
Australia Women take first innings lead against India Women
Australia women’s cricket team has overtaken India’s first innings score of 198 runs. On the second day of the pink ball game, the host team has easily taken the lead and is in a very strong position.
Till the time of writing the news, Australia has scored 208/4 runs after 55 overs, Annabel Sutherland and Beth Mooney are present at the crease. Sutherland was batting on 90 runs in just 114 balls. Mooney and Sutherland made an unbeaten partnership of 22 runs in 45 balls for the fifth wicket.
Fast bowler Sayali Satghare took two wickets for 38 runs in 11 overs. Kranti Gaur and spinner Deepti Sharma also took one wicket each. Kashvi Gautam (0/42), Sneh Rana (0/46), and Shafali Verma (0/5) are still in search of the first wicket of the innings.
