Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) didn’t put a foot wrong in the final of the WPL 2024. After being asked to field first, they didn’t have a great start with the ball as the Delhi Capitals had a solid 64-run stand between Shafali Verma (43) and Meg Lanning (23).

But after that, Sophie Molineux changed the complexion of the game as she bowled a triple-wicket maiden. However, after that RCB made sure that they didn’t drift the game away from them as they bowled sensationally well after that.

Shreyanka Patil produced a magnificent spell as she picked 4 wickets. Based on the terrific bowling performance, they bundled out Delhi Capitals for just 113 runs. Apart from her and Sophie, Asha Sobhana picked two wickets as well with the ball.

In the chase, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were off to a slow start with the bat. Sophie Devine (31) and Smriti Mandhana made sure that they didn’t lose wickets in the powerplay. The duo added 49 runs before the former got out in the 9th over.

After that, skipper Smriti Mandhana (31) and Ellyse Perry made sure that they took control in the middle phase. They added 33 runs for the second wicket and brought the team close to the target. Captain couldn’t carry her bat along as she got out in the 15th over.

But Ellyse Perry (35*) made sure that she took her team home. The Australia all-rounder scored unbeaten runs. She was supported well by Rich Ghosh (17*) as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the game by 8 wickets to claim their first-ever title in the league.
