England and Australia will play the mixed disability Ashes for the first time in 2027, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Wednesday, July 22. The historic series will add a new chapter to the game’s greatest rivalry between England and Australia. ECB unveils first-ever mixed disability Ashes for 2027
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that Australia’s men’s mixed disability team will travel to England to compete in the Mixed Disability Ashes for the first time next summer.
This means that the England men’s, women’s and men’s mixed disability teams will compete for the Ashes Vase in 2027. The ECB also revealed that both the Australian and English teams will play the Vitality T20I series, while the full schedule, match dates and venues will be announced later.
With this initiative, he hopes that disability cricket will get more recognition and more players will be inspired to take up the sport.
