Dwayne Bravo picks Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle in all-time India-West Indies T20 XI

Former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has picked his all-time India-West Indies T20 XI in a recent post on Los Angeles Knight Riders’ ax handle. The former West Indies star sparked debate by leaving out modern T20 stars Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav from his combined playing XI.

India has won the T20 World Cup title three times, while West Indies has won the trophy twice. The Men in Blue led by Shreyas Iyer are currently touring Ireland For the two-match T20I series. Meanwhile, West Indies are hosting Sri Lanka in a multi-format series of Test, ODI and T20I.

Dwayne Bravo picks Gayle, Rohit and Kohli in his all-time India-West Indies T20 XI

Dwayne Bravo picked Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma as his opening pair in his all-time India-West Indies T20 XI, while keeping Virat Kohli at No. 3. Gayle is one of the greatest T20 batsmen, having scored 14,562 runs and 22 centuries in 463 matches.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are among the highest run-scorers in T20I history. Rohit has scored 4,231 runs, while Kohli has scored 4,188 runs. Both retired from T20I cricket after helping India win the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Bravo chose Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell to form a powerful middle order. The trio has enjoyed remarkable success in franchise cricket and international T20 over the last few years.

Pooran recently completed 10,000 T20 runs and has scored four centuries in the format. Russell has established himself as one of the best T20 all-rounders, scoring 9,652 runs and taking 512 wickets in 592 matches, while Pollard is the leading run-scorer in T20 history with 14,589 runs.

Despite success in T20 cricket, Dwayne Bravo dropped Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. He chose former Indian captain MS Dhoni at number 7 as the wicketkeeper in his all-time India-West Indies T20 XI.

Dhoni led India to its first ICC T20 World Cup title in 2007 and led Chennai Super Kings to five IPL trophies. Bravo achieved a lot of success in the IPL under the captaincy of Dhoni and won many titles with CSK.

Bravo selected himself and Sunil Narine at numbers 8 and 9 to strengthen the all-round department. Narine and Bravo are among the most successful bowlers in T20 history, having taken 632 and 631 wickets in franchise and international cricket respectively.

Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar completed the pace attack as fast bowlers. Bumrah played a key role in India’s 2026 T20 World Cup win and won the Player of the Tournament award, while Bhuvneshwar impressed during IPL 2026 by taking 28 wickets as Royal Challengers Bangalore retained the title.

Bravo named former India batsman Suresh Raina as its Impact Player. Raina and Bravo shared many successful years at Chennai Super Kings.
