Shubman Gill praised his batsmen for the big win

He pointed out that they got a lot of extra runs on the board, which gave them an extra edge over Rajasthan Royals. The GT captain mentioned that the pitch was not quite easy to bat on, but still, he was able to stick to it and post a good score.
Gill said after the match, “Yeah, definitely, even before this match, we had a conversation that, so far, I don’t think we had a perfect match. Very happy. I think it was a clean win for us. Definitely (would you say it was a perfect match?).”
“I think we probably added 10-15 extra runs on the board. We thought there was a bit of opportunity for the spinners in the middle. It was not easy to hit sixes or get boundaries. The ball was getting caught a bit.”
“We have got 230 runs on the board. We always knew that if we got a few wickets in the power play, we would have a good game. Yes, I mean we thought the same (we thought 250 was going to be the score),” said Shubman Gill.
GT captain also praised the bowlers
Gill also praised his bowlers for maintaining pressure on the Rajasthan batsmen throughout the innings. He highlighted that the bowlers got wickets at crucial stages and there is such a difference between the two teams on the scorecard.
“We find that if we take wickets in front, it always gives our bowlers a little more opportunity to attack in the middle overs and then take even more wickets. Because of the impact players have and the kind of wickets they have, the only way to stop the other team is to keep taking wickets.”
GT captain Shubman Gill said, “There is no other way. So that’s the thought process behind it. Always keep in mind to keep attacking and taking wickets.”
