I am not in favor of choosing bowlers and choosing Test matches – Dilip Vengsarkar
Speaking to Revsportz, the famous Dilip Vengsarkar opposed the idea of Jasprit Bumrah, which was allowed to be selective about playing the match. He labeled the unavailability of world class pacer for the Edgbaston Test as unacceptable. Dilip Vengsarkar said:
“I am not in favor of choosing bowlers and choosing a Test match. If you are fit and available, you should play all matches for your country. Bumrah is a world -class bowler, and he can win the match for India. But once you are on a tour, you need to play every match. There is no question of choosing matches based on personal choice.

“What’s important is playing for India and if you are unfit, don’t play at all. After about 7-8 days of the first Test match, they had a difference of about 7-8 days, but still not included for the second Test which was not acceptable. It was probably acceptable to Agarkar and Gamhi.”
Jadeja should have taken some risk – Dilip Vengsarkar
Ravindra Jadeja played an unbeaten 61 -run knock off 181 balls in the Lord’s Test at Day 5 and formed an important partnership with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Sirj, but was unable to guide India to win.
Talking about the heart -breaking harm, Dilip Vengsarkar said that senior all -rounder Jadeja should have taken more risk while batting. He said:
“This is very unfortunate and disappointing. I believe we should have won the test of the Lord. The team fought a tough fight till the end, but I think Jadeja should have taken some risks.
“Of course, this is something that we can only say in obstacle. But if there was another partnership, I believe we must have won the game.”
