The ongoing Asia Cup is getting bigger around 2025, and all eyes are now in the struggle of India vs Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on 21 September. Amidst enthusiasm, a storm is going on on the appointment of the match referee.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the Zimbabwe officer Andy Picroft will be in charge of the Blockbuster India vs Pakistan’s game, which ends all the noise and doubts raised in the wake of the “No-Handshake” controversy in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.

The ICC has already conducted an investigation and made it clear that Andy Pycroft’s name is clear. The governing body has firmly stood on its land, saying that the integrity of a referee cannot be questioned when it has been approved.

India vs. Pakistan Clash is sticking with Pycroft, the ICC has sent a strong message that no team or board can pressurize their officials. A source close to the developments in Dubai said, “The integrity and credibility of a match officer should never be questioned, once a fair investigation has left him.”

Well, Andy Picroft will not eliminate India vs Pakistan Super Four Clash just in the Asia Cup 2025. The match referee has been given a full plate of sports in Dubai.
It will be a referee for the Sri Lanka -Bangladesh match on 20 September, India -Bangladesh Clash on 24 September and Pakistan’s Super Four match against Bangladesh on 25 September.
On the other hand, West Indian Legend Richie Richardson will take charge of Abu Dhabi matches in the ongoing Continental tournament including Pakistan vs Sri Lanka on 23 September.
The system is simple: Picroft will continue to reduce matches in Dubai, and Richardson will manage the Games in Abu Dhabi.
Officials of the Asia Cup 2025 final match will be decided later on September 28, as the ICC usually selects the referee for a large knockout game based on their performance during the event.

But the ICC’s decision to keep the pikeroft for India vs Pakistan Game has not gone down well with PCB. The Pakistan cricket team suddenly canceled their pre-match media conference, which shocked fans and reporters.

The pycroft forms have been part of more than 530 international sports, including more than 120 India, including more than 110 with England and more than 100 with Pakistan. His long and vast experience makes him one of the most respected referees in the game.
