Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 22, was between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Chasing the target of 193 runs, Cam Green returned after scoring a golden duck. The Australian all-rounder was dismissed by Noor Ahmed on the very first ball during the clash.
Cam Green’s struggle continues in IPL. He has not been able to go beyond the 30-run mark in this tournament. He was unbeaten in the last match but he failed to score runs as his performance in the tournament has not been good and the pressure has increased on Cam Green as he was paid Rs 25.20 crore during the mini-auction last year.
Green’s struggle continues
Monetary pressure on Green led to the downfall of the Australian cricketer. Cam Green has scored only 56 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 147.36, with a highest score of 32* in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants. After hitting a six in the last match, he heaved a sigh of relief, as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders.
Green has been under pressure since the start of the tournament because of his price tag. He was brought into the team to replace Andre Russell, and has largely failed to make a mark or fill the shoes of the big Jamaican all-rounder. Despite starting the bowling, the Australian players have not been able to perform at their best this season.
KKR is misusing Cam Green
Earlier, former Australian captain Aaron Finch had said, “There is a bit of nervousness, he is not looking the same. Remember when he was at the top of the order for MI – how his intentions were completely different,” Finch said. “He was impressive at the crease. Now he looks tentative. Don’t push him down. Either move him up the order, or rest him.”
Green is not a great player of spin, and he is good at playing fast pace. In tonight’s game against CSK, he batted at No. 6, and with spinners bowling from both ends, he failed to take advantage of it and was out on the score of zero on the very first ball. KKR should think about getting him to bat in the top 3 or drop him out as he is not useful at the end of the innings.

Time has come to make changes in the KKR team. Cameron replaced Green with Sachin Ravindra and Finn Allen with Tim Seifert.

so far in #IPL2026Cameron Green has scored just 24 runs (18, 2 and 4) in 3 innings for KKR.
At ₹25.20 crore, this is over ₹1.05 crore per run!
Complete waste of money. time to move on! #kkr #CameronGreen @KKRiders https://t.co/FXze0XkVc1– Qalb H (@H786Qalb) 14 April 2026
Only KKR knows what Cameron Green was batting at number 6 and only Saruk knows for how long Rinku Singh will be kept as a finisher.
Why can’t Rinku Singh be given time to settle down and play long innings? When every Tom Dick and Harry is getting a chance in the top 4…
