Amit Mishra has called time on his remarkable career, which ends a remarkable journey spread over two decades on 4 September. Next to the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, the Indian leg-spinner has declared its retirement in all forms of the game.
Mishra, who was known for his clever variations, created a reputation as one of the most reliable spinners in India. He has represented India in 22 trials, 36 Odis and 10 T20I. The spinner has 76 Test wickets, 64 OD wickets and one wicket which is named after him in T20I cricket.

Although the Indian spinner’s career was persistently killed by injuries, he is now firm to mention new generations on the international stage.

Amit Mishra quoted IANS as saying: “These 25 years of my life in cricket are no less than memorable. I am deeply grateful to BCCI, Administration, Haryana Cricket Association, Assistant Employees, My Associates and my family members who were with me.”
He added, “I would like to thank those fans whose love and support whenever and wherever I played, Cricket has given me countless memories and invaluable learns, and every moment there has been a memory on the ground that I give a treasure for life.”
