Indian legend Dilip Vengsarkar Paes Spearhead has become the latest former cricketer to share his views on the ongoing debate about the workload management of Jasprit Bumrah.

Dilip Vengsarkar said that Jasprit Bumrah should have left the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for Mumbai Indians (MI) to keep themselves “fully fit” for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

Meanwhile, the legendary Dilip Vengsarkar has said that BCCI should have asked Bumrah to leave his term with Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025 to keep themselves fresh for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 and the selectors should discuss the matter with MI owners.

“Keeping in mind the importance of India vs. England Test series and his delicate bench, Bumrah should have been asked to miss the BCCI, selectors, and the Indian team management.

“If I were the chief selector of India, I would assure Mukesh Ambani (owner of Mumbai Indians) and Bumrah that it was important for Bumrah to remember the IPL for the England series, or play a small number of matches in the IPL. I am sure they would agree to do so.”

Dilip Vengsarkar further claimed that India could win the five -match Test series if Bumrah would have been available for all five matches. In particular, the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy ended 2–2 after the 2025 young Indian team gave amazing performance.

“It was a series for age and I want Bumrah to be available for almost all tests. We could win the series if it would,” Vengsarkar told TOI on Sunday.

Although Dilip Vengsarkar Bumrah was not happy to see Miss matches, he sure to close Pesar’s critics and gave him a reality check.

The former India player said that critics should not question Bumrah’s commitment as he is giving everything to the country despite going through surgery.

“You cannot blame Bumrah for missing matches many times. We should remember that Bumrah has done surgery. His back is weak and we should be vigilant with him. You cannot question his commitment to the country. Whenever he plays for India, I hope he returns to India after enough rest.”
