Former National Cricket Team captain Dilip Vengsarkar, along with head coach Gautam Gambhir, has exploded the Surrey Head Groundsman and Chief Curator Lee Fortis for his spat.
Dilip Vengsarkar said that former Australian players used some ugly words to show him their place if they had tried to fight with them.
What happened between Li Fortis and Gautam Gambhir?
Li Fortis and Gautam Gambhir were engaged in a hot oral spat a few days before the fifth and final Test match between India and England started at Kennington Oval, London.

All this began when the chief curator Lee Fortis issued a warning to Indian assistant employees to stay at least 2.5 meters away from the pitch, while they were inspecting without wearing spikes.
Fortis was allegedly concerned with the presence of training gear on the main class along with heavy footfalls, but the way he spoke and the Indians constantly raised Gautam Gambhir.
India’s head coach Gambhir immediately fired back in Fortis and said he was not told what he had to do and doubled on his curse, “You are just a groundman, you remain in your ability. You are just a groundman, nothing,” despite the curator warning, Gambhir warned about filing an official complaint against him.
As the head coach of the Indian team, Gambhir had every right to see the pitch – Dilip Vengsarkar
In a recent conversation, Dilip Vengsarkar said that Gautam Gambhir had the right to look at the pitch from close quarters before all important matches against England at Kennington Oval in London, and he was not on the wrong side of things in a warm place with Lee Fortis.
Dilip Vengsarkar also did not agree with Australian veteran Matthew Hayden, who said that even though he was not guilty of serious changes, he ‘used better language and tied it’.
“As the head coach of the Indian team, Gambhir had every right to see the pitch from close quarters. When the teams visit India, their entire team-and not only do the coach and captain, minimum check of the pitch. Even his media inspected the pitch before the match. No one tells them anything. So how are we separate when we are playing in England?
“Hayden, or any of any Australian cricketers, would take it well if a curator asked him to stay away from the square before an important match. If it had happened to the Australians, they used the curators to use words to show their place,” Vengsarkar quoted by Times of India (TOII).

Dilip Vengsarkar has good pitches for India-England series
Dilip Vengsarkar was also impressed by the pitches prepared for the five -match testing series between India and England. He said that getting out of sports pitches will help cricket to flourish and BCCI will be advised to do the same in the upcoming house season instead of preparing a rank turner.
“This suggests that if you take out good pitches, Test cricket can not only survive, but can also flourish,” he said.
“I hope that India also does the same in its upcoming international session (every two tests against the West Indies and South Africa) and offers good, sports wickets for tests. The BCCI should not do for the desires of the captains and coaches who should not do for the wishes of the captains and coaches, who are looking for a short -term profit by qualifying for the match and qualifying for the World Test Championship,”
