Digwesh Rathi openly worked openly in Delhi Premier League

Lucknow Super Veteran (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi is struggling while playing for South Delhi Superstars in the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025). Rathi got into a hot exchange with West Delhi Lions opener Anukit Kumar during the 7th match of DPL 2025 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday, August 5.

Digvesh Rathi attracted attention with an impressive IPL 2025 season for Lucknow franchise. His success came in the Delhi Premier League in August 2024, where 25 -year -old cricketer emerged as a standout bowler for South Delhi Superstar and one of the top artists of the league.

During the fifth over of Chase of West Delhi Lions, Digvesh Rathi pulled out of his delivery stride after notice of opener Ankit Kumar’s movement at the crease. It was a strategy that Rathi first used to assess in IPL 2025 as to whether a batsman was planning to attack.

The spinner then switched to the wicket to score, but when Ankit was about to distribute the rathi, the tension increased, causing an oral exchange between the two.

Later in the match, Rathi was brought back to the attack by South Delhi superstar captain Ayush Badoni. Ankit provoked the rathi for two big sixes-for a long time and the other on deep mid-wicket. Rathi completed his magic with 0/33 figures from three overs.

Digvesh Rathi to open wicket tally in DPL 2025 so far

West Delhi Lions chased a target of 186 and kept eight wickets and 26 balls in hand. Ankit Kumar scored 96 runs in 46 balls, hit 11 fours and sixth sixes. He fell four runs in the 16th over for less than a century.

Ankit shared an initial stand of 158 runs with Krish Yadav, who scored 67 runs in 42 delivery. Captain Nitish Rana and Ayush Dosja chased.

Earlier, Rana opted to bowl first after winning the toss. South Delhi posted 185/7 with contribution of Kunwar Bidhuri (42), Sumit Mathur (33), and Ayush Badoni (48). However, regular wickets changed their pace at the later stages of the innings. Anirudh Chaudhary took three wickets.

This was the second consecutive defeat of the superstar. Digwesh Rathi has to open his wicket tally in the tournament so far and will be eager to influence in his next match against Central Delhi Kings on 7 August.

Digwesh Rathi was purchased by Lucknow Super Veterans for ₹ 30 lakh in IPL 2025 mega auction. The spinner finished the season as the top wicket-top-winter of LSG, with 14 of the 13 matches with average 30.64 with scale and the economy was 8.25.

Rathi harassed the top-order batsmen at all stages of the game. After his IPL success, he became one of the most paid players in the second edition of the Delhi Premier League.

South Delhi Superstars acquired him for ₹ 38 lakh, making him a second expensive signature of the auction. Only Simarjit Singh attracted a high bid, in which Central Delhi kings secured him for ₹ 39 lakh. Nitish Rana of West Delhi Lions was the third largest in ₹ 34 lakh.
