A big, controversial moment in the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Super Giants (KKR vs LSG) match at the Eden Gardens on April 9, when Finn Allen was out cheaply. LSG fielder Digvesh Rathi took a controversial catch to dismiss the dangerous KKR opener.
On the fourth ball of the second over of the first innings, the home team Kolkata Knight Riders lost the wicket of Finn Allen against Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Prince Yadav. Allen tried to hit a length ball from LSG’s emerging fast bowler across the line. But the batsman misjudged the bounce and was deceived. The ball, which was on off, went away from the batsman with some extra bounce.

Instead of a big shot, the Kiwi batsman got a top edge which went towards deep third where Digvesh Rathi caught the ball. But was it a fair catch? There is concern about the catch as Rathi’s leg came very close to the boundary line. Finn Allen was out after scoring 9 runs with two fours in 8 balls.
