Dewald Brewis hit a sensational direct hit to end Aiden Markram’s innings during the ongoing IPL 2026 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (May 10).
Earlier, during the Lucknow Super Giants match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Aiden Markram had escaped a serious tussle with captain Rishabh Pant, but this time against Chennai Super Kings, he lost his wicket due to his own mistake.
Dewald Brevis produces a bullet direct hit to send back Aiden Markram in CSK vs LSG IPL 2026 clash
The South African sensation showed his magic on the first ball of the 13th over against Lucknow Super Giants. Akeal Hosein bowled a full ball to Akshat Raghuvanshi. The batsman flicked the ball towards deep midwicket, where Dewald Brevis was positioned near the boundary.

Akshat and Markram completed one run, but everyone was surprised when the youngster asked for a risky second run even though there was not enough time to complete it. He trusted the call and started running back for second, and that decision turned into a complete disaster for LSG.
Dewald Brevis’ precise straight hit leaves Aiden Markram in trouble
Brewis has shown his great insight in depth. The young CSK star immediately collected the ball and without wasting even a second, delivered a rocket throw at the bowler’s end straight towards the stumps. And this time the throw was absolutely perfect.
Before Markram could come close to reaching the crease, the ball hit the stumps straight away. The South African batsman fell just short as another Proteas star completed a stunning direct hit. Markram had to go back after scoring just 6 runs in 7 balls.

Notably, Aiden had a remarkable season last year where he scored over 400 runs, due to which he was retained by LSG for Rs 2 crore. But this season was very bad for him. He has struggled to score consistently for LSG this season, where he has scored only 230+ runs in 11 innings at an average of 25.66 and a strike rate of over 138.
Dewald Brewis took a brilliant boundary catch to dismiss Mitchell Marsh.
Earlier, Dewald Brevis took a brilliant catch to help Anshul Kamboj dismiss LSG’s dangerous opener Mitchell Marsh cheaply. Kamboj bowled a length ball which turned slightly towards the stumps. Marsh tried to attack the ball and tried to hit it straight on the ground.

However, the Australian captain misplayed his shot, and the ball went into the air towards the long-on boundary instead of traveling powerfully. Dewald Brewis, who was standing near the boundary, quickly got himself under the ball to complete a remarkable catch.
At first, Brewis held the ball safely, but while trying to control his balance near the boundary rope, it looked as if he might step outside the field. To avoid touching the boundary and giving away six runs, Brewis cleverly bowled the ball in the air while still inside the ground.
Then, the CSK star came back in control and caught the ball again in his second attempt to complete a brilliant catch. A smart fielding effort gave CSK a big wicket at a crucial time as Marsh was out for 10 off 10 balls in Chennai.
