South African youngster Dewald Brewis has been making headlines on social media for his spectacular arrival in international white-ball cricket as he has never put a brake on his scoring rate. This time, the AB de Villiers fanboy jumped in and took a quick catch at point, re-creating the image of Jonty Rhodes in the minds of cricket lovers.
South Africa are heading into the series on the back of a resounding win in the Test series and will be high on confidence, while India are vindictive. South Africa decided to rest their captain Tamba Bavuma and Aiden Markram came into the field as the captain of the Proteas.
Although they did not get off to a good start with Indian stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli putting up a big century partnership for the second wicket, they managed to pull it back to some extent after Rohit was dismissed by new batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad in the middle overs.

After a long wait, Ruturaj Gaikwad has returned to the Indian team. He convinced the Indian management with his dominance in the unofficial ODI against South Africa A that the time was right to bring him into the team after Shreyas Iyer’s injury.
Struggling to score easily, Gaikwad tried to slash the ball slightly outside off-stump, but Otniel Baartman’s delivery once again stayed low and Dewald Brewis was on hand to bowl an absolute stunner at backward point. Virat Kohli was absolutely astonished to see Brevis’ brilliant one-handed innings.

South Africa has been brilliant in their ground fielding
After Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Tony De Zorzi, the Proteas have been in great form on the field. His ground fielding has been excellent as he has saved boundaries, kept the scoring rate in check and even pulled off some stunning grabs at times.
Dewald Brewis has been very sporadic in his field, and there have been Aiden Markram, Marco Jensen and even Tony De Zorzi after the catch drop. He has been brilliant on the ball. He is running fast, saving singles, and keeping the boundaries away from 2 and 3.
Virat Kohli close to 52nd ODI century
Even after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli looked confident, although the scoring rate has dropped to a great extent as both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Washington Sundar have failed to regularize the strike between both ends.
