Chennai Super Kings superstar Dewald Brewis announced his comeback date ahead of the upcoming clash against Delhi Capitals and thanked CSK for their immense love and support across venues in India.
Chennai Super Kings have not had a good start in the tournament, as they have lost their three opening games in the 2026 edition. After playing their first match against Rajasthan Royals and last match against RCB, the Chennai team collapsed in many departments.

During a fan interaction session with the CSK team members, Dewald Brewis mentioned his comeback date in a special segment where he had to give a quick message to his CSK fans. Brewis confirmed that he is excited to meet the fans on the 11th, which is CSK’s next match against DC.
Brewis boldly announced his return, saying, “Can’t wait to see you guys on the 11th, in any game, wherever we play.”

Can Brewis restore balance to CSK’s batting order?
Will Dewald Brewis be able to restore balance in the Chennai Super Kings team? This is a big question for the Super Kings as they need balance in the middle order. While Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to deliver promising performances at the top, they need someone who can produce a promising innings in the middle order.
Brewis, who had a promising season in the shortest format of the game, will likely replace Karthik Sharma as the batsman did not have a promising season in his debut season. In contrast, Prashant Veer has batted well in the last game, although he has not bowled yet.
Brevis, along with in-form Sarfaraz Khan, could be the batsmen who can join hands to give CSK a solid middle order. However, Brevis’ return is unlikely to solve CSK’s biggest concern regarding the bowlers.

Although Brewis has performed brilliantly in the shortest format of the game in recent times, the batsman has not been as consistent as before. Yet he had his best season in the SA20, when he moved from MI Cape Town to Pretoria Capital.
In the final against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, he scored 370 runs in 12 innings at an average of 41.11 and a strike rate of 156.11 with two half-centuries and a mammoth century. He has scored 1046 runs in four seasons in SA20.
Brewis, on the other hand, played a key role for South Africa in the T20 World Cup, where despite not scoring his maiden World Cup half-century, he played some brilliant innings with the bat.
