The India national cricket team suffered a humiliating 408-run defeat against the South Africa national cricket team in the second and final Test at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, November 26.
With this humiliating defeat, the Indian cricket team has suffered another embarrassing defeat at home in Tests. Last year, the New Zealand cricket team defeated the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team in a three-match Test series at home for the first time since 2000.
South Africa beats India by 408 runs in Guwahati Test, completes historic 2-0 whitewash on Indian soil
That humiliation ended India’s 12-year series winning run on home soil. And now, the Proteas side, the defending champions of the ICC World Test Championship, defeated India 2-0 in the two-match Test series to win their first series on Indian soil after 25 years.

The Proteas team has been dominant since arriving on the tour. After winning the first Test by 30 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, a confident South African team made a strong start to the second and final Test against India at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
They posted a massive score of 489 runs on the board in their first innings thanks to a brilliant century from Senuran Muthusamy and a record 93 runs from Marco Jansen, with Kuldeep Yadav being the best bowler for India with four wickets. In reply, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fifty, India could score only 201 runs.
Marco Johnson and Simon Harmer played key roles in South Africa’s memorable win
Marco Jensen stole the show with his brilliant bowling with impressive figures of 6/48. Simon Harmer also took three wickets.
The Proteas continued their dominance in the second innings as well and on the basis of their first innings lead, they set a huge target of 549 runs for India in Guwahati.
In the second innings, Tristan Stubbs scored a brilliant 94 while Tony De Zorzi made 49 as the touring team declared their innings at 260/5.
Ravindra Jadeja was the best bowler for India with four wickets. Chasing the target, India were bundled out for just 140 runs, with Jadeja scoring a fighting half-century.

Fans demand dismissal of Gautam Gambhir
Harmer once again led the Proteas bowling attack, taking six wickets as South Africa won the match by 408 runs in Guwahati and completed a historic whitewash of India. It was India’s biggest Test defeat in terms of runs and fans were outraged on social media.
Many have called for Gautam Gambhir to be sacked as head coach, while some have called for Rishabh Pant and Sai Sudarshan to be dropped from the red-ball setup as it is the team’s second elimination in its own home conditions within 12 months.
Here is how fans reacted to India’s yet another humiliating series defeat:
i can only imagine @anilkumble1074 , @RaviShastriOfc Both the tremendous former coaches who made India a champion team must be thinking in that commentary box today. They are witnessing the death of Indian Test cricket by Gautam Gambhir. #INDvsSA

It’s time for Gautam Gambhir to step down, India doesn’t need a micromanaging type of coach, it needs a systematic, performance based selection, result oriented and people’s person type of coach. This is just my opinion as a non-Indian looking at it from the outside #just saying@bcci

SBSE is not only playing unitedly by including Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar in the team, this is a chance for SB to give top batting order and drop Arshdeep anytime and Samson out, Shubman will get tremendous fit in T20.

LMAO “Kota” performed brilliantly and led the Proteas Test team to a 2-0 series win against India in India after 25 years. You’d think we’d be winning there with players who weren’t considered “quota players”, but…

It was actually South Africa’s one-sided dominance in both the matches that saw Team India defeat India.
Congratulations @ProteasMenCSA GIFT FOR YOUR HUGE WIN!

Two consecutive home series losses… and still no accountability?
If Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir really care about Indian cricket, it is time they take responsibility.
The team looks directionless, decisions look confused, and the results speak for themselves.

To save Indian Test cricket, Gautam Gambhir should resign now or BCCI should remove him. You cannot play Test cricket with a T20 mentality. #INDVsSA
