In the press conference before the match, Munaf Patel said, “We have won two matches now so we are not missing Starc. But if he does not perform in the coming matches then it depends on him.”

The former fast bowler of Team India admitted that Mitchell Starc is one of the best fast bowlers in the entire country at present. For Patel, only Jasprit Bumrah can be compared to Starc.
He said, “He is one of the best bowlers in the world. Right now, everyone is saying that yes, we are not missing him because we are winning. But he is our top bowler. And I think there is no one better than Starc in the IPL. The only bowler you can compare with is Bumrah. You can see how much experience he has, how fast he bowls, swinging at 140-plus with the new ball.”
