Abhishek Porel was accused of living together after promising marriage. However, the cricketer has denied the allegation, and now the Calcutta High Court has ordered the police to take the Bengal and Delhi Capitals cricketer into custody and seize his electronic devices over possible rape charges against him.
Last month, when he was accused of living together after promising marriage, he rejected all the allegations calling them fake. A complaint was registered against him at Magra police station in Hooghly district. He is a resident of Chandanagar.

Now, he has been charged under Mogra PS FIR No. 346/2026, which includes non-bailable BNS charges including rape and criminal assault. The court ordered the police to seize the personal devices of the complainant to maintain his privacy and prevent the spread of objectionable information. The next hearing is to be held on August 11.

Earlier, a woman had alleged against Abhishek Porel that she and Porel were in a relationship for the last three years and their relationship faced problems last year when the cricketer started maintaining distance from the unnamed woman. She also accused her attacker that they had a sexual relationship and were assured of the same.
