Deepti Sharma believes that the Serbian tennis legend and India’s legendary cricketer share some similar characteristics despite being in different sporting fields. Following the conclusion of the Indian women’s cricket team’s campaign at the Women’s T20 World Cup in England, Indian women’s team cricketers made comparisons during their visit to the ongoing Wimbledon.
Similarities between MS Dhoni and Novak Djokovic
Speaking on Jio Hotstar, Deepti Sharma said that Novak Djokovic is a person who, like MS Dhoni, is known for his mental strength and never-say-die attitude. Whenever situations seem to come with immense pressure, both the legends find ways to deal with those situations and come out as winners.
Deepti told Jio Hotstar, “When you talk about Djokovic, everyone talks about his mental strength. He is someone who never gives up, no matter how difficult the situation is. In cricket, I think MS Dhoni sir is very similar. He is known to be very cool and calm. Whenever pressure situations come, he handles them very well. It never feels like he is in a difficult situation. He handles the pressure so easily. Let’s handle it.”
“Djokovic and Dhoni both have the rare quality of remaining calm and strong when it matters most,” he said.

“I dreamed that one day I would come to watch a Wimbledon match, and it feels really good to finally be here. When you go to watch a match at such an iconic venue, and when you’ve always watched it on TV, but today you’re watching it live for the first time, it feels amazing. The atmosphere, the crowd, the energy – everything is different. I’m really enjoying watching tennis at Wimbledon. It feels great,” she said.

Deepti further claims that Novak Djokovic is her favorite tennis star currently, while she has grown up watching legends of the game like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal. He admitted that Federer and Nadal were his favorite tennis players during his youth, but now it is Djokovic because of his never-say-die mentality.
“My favorite is Djokovic. I watch his game very closely. I really admire the way he fights on the court, his mental strength and his never-say-die attitude. It’s always inspiring to watch him play,” she said.
“I grew up watching great players like Federer and Nadal. I have followed their matches closely for a long time. But recently, Djokovic has become my favorite. I now follow his matches more than anyone else.”
