The mega auction of the Women’s Premier League 2026 (WPL 2026) in New Delhi turned out to be truly dramatic when Deepti Sharma’s name came up. Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma entered the mega auction at a base price of Rs 50 lakh, but it sparked a bidding war between the teams.

Delhi Capitals (DC) started strong and continued their offer, and it looked like they were all set to have India’s ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 winner in their squad for WPL 2026. But just when everyone thought the fight was over, UP Warriors shocked the action room.

UP Warriors use RTM to bring home Deepti Sharma for ₹3.2 crore

Using their Right to Match card, UP Warriors immediately matched DC’s bid and bought Deepti back for Rs 3.2 crore, as she will now continue to play for the franchise in the upcoming WPL season.
