The 10th edition of the ICC T20 World Cup is now entering the final stages, and the semi-finalists have been confirmed after the India vs West Indies Super 8 match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
On Sunday, March 1, the Men in Blue defeated two-time champions, West Indies by runs to clinch the final semi-final spot in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026.
Now, India, South Africa, England and New Zealand will fight for a place in the summit clash of the final championship.

T20 World Cup semi-final dates
The first semi-final of the ongoing tournament will be played on Wednesday, March 4, while the second semi-final will be played on Thursday, March 5.

England’s journey to T20 World Cup 2026
England have qualified for the semi-finals of the 2026 T20 World Cup after their impressive performance in the Super 8 stage. In the group stage, England recorded narrow wins over Nepal, Italy and Scotland before suffering a 30-run defeat to the West Indies.
But in the Super 8 round, England won all three matches and topped Group 2. They defeated Sri Lanka by 51 runs, Pakistan by 2 wickets and New Zealand by 4 wickets to reach the top four.

New Zealand’s journey to T20 World Cup 2026
New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals by finishing second in Super 8 Group 2 after failing to beat Pakistan’s net run rate during their five-run win over Sri Lanka. They won three of the four group matches, defeating Afghanistan, UAE and Canada, losing only to South Africa.
In the Super 8 round, New Zealand’s first game against Pakistan was washed out due to rain, but then, they made a great comeback by defeating Sri Lanka by 61 runs, although they suffered a close defeat against England.
South Africa’s journey to T20 World Cup 2026
South Africa has reached the semi-finals with an excellent record. The Proteas have not lost a single match so far and are looking strong for their maiden T20 World Cup title.
In the group stage, they finished on top by winning all four matches against New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada and UAE. In the Super 8 stage (Group 1), they continued their winning streak by defeating India, West Indies and Zimbabwe to maintain a 100% win record.
India’s T20 World Cup 2026 journey
India dominated the group stage and topped Group A with 4 wins from 4 matches. However, in the Super 8 round, South Africa defeated them by 76 runs, but the defending champions made a strong comeback with a 72-run win over Zimbabwe. And then, in their must-win match, the Men in Blue defeated West Indies to seal a place in the top four.
West Indies had a strong start in the 2026 T20 World Cup. They finished the group stage unbeaten in Group C. They defeated England, Scotland, Nepal and Italy.
They also defeated Zimbabwe in their first Super 8 game, but were then stunned by South Africa before India’s campaign ended. India and West Indies faced each other in the virtual quarter-finals and the winner of the match advanced to the semi-finals.
