The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday, February 28, announced the ICC Player of the Month winners for January 2026, with Daryl Mitchell and Shobhana Mosteri capturing the honours.
Daryl Mitchell wins ICC Men’s Player of the Month award
New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell has been named the ICC Player of the Month for January 2026 for playing a big role in New Zealand’s ODI series win over India that month.
Mitchell scored two consecutive centuries in the series. The New Zealand player won the award by defeating India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav and England’s experienced batsman Joe Root.

Shobhana Mostori wins ICC Women’s Player of the Month award
Bangladesh batsman Sobhana Mostari won the ICC Player of the Month award in the women’s category for January 2026. Mostari impressed everyone with her stellar performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier.
She was nominated along with Ireland captain Gabby Lewis and USA left-arm fast bowler Tara Norris.
