Former West Indies captain Daren Sammy chose his Dream T20 Shee in a video shared by St. Lucia Kings on his official Instagram account. The World Cup winning captain left the players like Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni, Jose Butler and Andre Russell at his Dream XI, which included himself.

Sammy is currently working as a head coach for the Kings in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025. David Visay -led team ranks fifth in the six -team points table with three points and -0.375 NET Run Rate (NRR). They have won one match and lost one, while the other was abandoned due to wet outfield.

Daren Sammy chose West Indies veteran Chris Gayle and Team India Batter Rohit Sharma as openers. Sammy chose wicketkeeper-son Nicholas Gorn, who recently retired from international cricket at number 3.

AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli were selected for number 4 and number 5 spots respectively. The head coach of the West Indies said that the batting order is flexible.

“Batsman Chris Gayle Opening. No. two will be inaugurated with Chris Gayle. Number three, Nicholas Goran. Number four, I need a right hand, which will be AB de Villiers. No. Five, I will go with Virat Kohli,” said Sammy.

“I will probably shift Virat and Nicholas Gariban Teen for five. But it will be my top five.”

Daren Sammy completed Dream T20 Xi with all-rounders and bowlers

Daren Sammy put himself in lineup, Kieron Pollard and at number 6 and number 7 respectively. Sammy then chose Rashid Khan, who took the most wickets in T20 with 660 scalps for the next place.

In the bowling unit, Sammy chose Sunil Narine to participate in the spin department with Rashid Khan. For motion attack, he included Jasprit Bumrah of India and Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga. He concluded the team with backup players Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo and Samuel Badri.

“Number six will be Kieron Pollard. You said that I have to choose myself today. Number seven, I will choose myself. Lasith Malinga. Jasprit Bumrah will be 10 and 11. Number nine, Sunil Narin.”

“On my bench, I have Andre Russell. Andre Russell on my bench. There is also Dwayne Bravo on my bench. And if I had to open a bowling for a spinner, it would be Samuel Badri.”

Sammy played 38 Tests, 126 Odis and 68 T20I for the West Indies. He scored 3,451 runs and took 209 wickets. Sammy played 320 T20 matches, scoring 3,918 runs at a strike rate of 138.39, while taking 169 wickets.

He last played an international match in September 2017. The all -rounder represented the World Xi against Pakistan in Lahore, where he scored 24 off 23 balls.
