Chennai Super Kings could bid goodbye to their veteran MS Dhoni in what is likely to be his last season in the IPL. The veteran Indian star was recently seen in a CSK shirt practicing with his teammates at the CSK Academy.
Chennai Super Kings have made some surprising changes in their team ahead of the upcoming IPL season. CSK released their star cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja and Mathisha Pathirana as they restocked their purse to bring in some new names who can boost their chances in the upcoming season.
Rachin Ravindra, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi and finally Sam Curran will no longer be a part of CSK, and they will have to depend on their newly added batsman Sanju Samson along with Ayush Mhatre and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for top-order stability.

Recently a video went viral on the official X page of Chennai Super Kings, where they posted MS Dhoni facing Khaleel Ahmed in the nets. It looked like a field session and Dhoni played his big shots.
He hit short balls from Khaleel towards square leg and pull shots towards the mid-wicket boundary. The shots went towards the fence, as he hit a four and a six off two balls and then sent another ball across the boundary. However, he was eventually dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed.

The caption caught the attention of MS Dhoni fans as they felt insulted
The caption of the same video, which marks MS Dhoni’s video, appears to be insulting to the veteran, as he was not given priority in it. The caption read, “Come for Thala’s big hits, stay for Khalil’s comeback.”
Maybe the caption was given to show the strength of CSK’s extraordinary team, as they wanted to show that they have some great hitters along with bowlers who can make a strong comeback in the game.
However, for MS Dhoni fans, it seemed like the franchise was not only moving on from the legend after including Sanju Samson in the team but also disrespecting him.
Will MS Dhoni continue as a gloveman or be used as an impact player?
Sanju Samson marked one of the biggest trades in IPL history as he was swapped for Ravindra Jadeja. CSK let go of one of their most premium names; This proves Samson’s importance within the men in the Yellow Camp.
MS Dhoni has been serving the team as their key gloveman for over 18 seasons, and whether he will be rested from such responsibilities remains to be seen. Additionally, IPL offers the Impact Player feature, which can be used to bring in a player to bat or bowl during an innings.
