According to media reports, the team has attacked in the subcontinent. Cricket West Indies (CWI) is in constant touch with the cricketers and the International Cricket Council (ICC) to arrange a safe way to take the team back.
West Indies cricket team is stuck in the subcontinent for 5 days
According to media reports, 5 days have passed since the India vs West Indies match, but the Caribbean cricketers have not yet received their return tickets. Due to the heated situation involving Iran, some major air routes are now blocked. Flights are avoiding direct air routes to the Middle East.
A few days ago, the cricket governing body of West Indies shared a message on social media platform ‘X’, ensuring that they are taking necessary steps to send their players to their homes safely.
Cricket West Indies assures team’s safety
“CWI has been in constant dialogue with the players, team management and the International Cricket Council (ICC) since their last match against India. While the situation remains complex and fluid due to international airspace restrictions arising from security concerns in the Gulf region, CWI assures the public that every precaution is being taken to ensure the team’s safe return to the Caribbean,” CWI’s official statement read.
The post was shared on the social media platform on March 5, and the India vs West Indies match was on March 1. Despite assurances from the cricket board, Akeal Hosein sought help from the footballer, which shows how disappointed the players are with the matter.
Akeal Hosein and Darren Sammy expressed their disappointment
“At this moment, it would be better for me to ask Cristiano [Ronaldo] to send [jet] And come save me yes”, Aqeel Hossain wrote on his ‘X’ account.
