“Rohit Sharma is my favorite cricketer because I have been watching his batting since childhood. The way he behaves on and off the field really stands out. Whenever I go to talk to him, he talks very calmly and takes his time in explaining things to me. He explains everything patiently and is never in a hurry. And he even says that I can call him at any time without any hesitation.

“As far as his batting is concerned, everyone already knows how special it is. His timing and the natural flow in his batting is extraordinary and that is why I have been following and learning his batting style since my childhood,” Team India Under-19 captain Mhatre said in his Instagram video.

Ayush Mhatre is considered one of the best emerging talents of Indian cricket

Like Rohit, Ayush is also from Mumbai and is considered one of the most exciting emerging talents. With an attacking mindset, Mhatre has made a positive impact for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the IPL 2025 season. The 18-year-old went unsold during the auction, but CSK had to rely on him due to injury concerns midway through the IPL 2025 season.

The young batsman proved that the CSK team management took the right decision by signing him for the franchise tournament. His mentality and courageous attitude in the middle was perfectly in line with the standards of the Indian Premier League. In the upcoming season too, he will play for the 5-time IPL winning team.
