Two well-known IPL franchises, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, continue their fight over Sanju Samson despite the deal being finalized between the two teams. Both the teams praised the legendary player on his birthday.
Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson made his IPL debut as a 19-year-old young cricketer in 2013 with Rajasthan Royals. He remained with the Royals for three seasons and scored 750 runs for the Royals at an average of around 25.
After performing brilliantly, he moved to Delhi Daredevils in 2016 and played two seasons for the Daredevils. He looked promising for the Delhi-based franchise, scoring impressive runs in 2017 and scoring a brilliant century, before coming back to the Royals.

Ever since Sanju Samson joined Rajasthan Royals in 2018, he has been an important part of the franchise. He has been a reliable run-scorer since 2018, scoring 441, 342, 375, 484, 458, 362, 531 and 258 runs in the last 8 seasons.
Playing for the Royals, he has scored 4027 runs with 2 centuries and 23 half-centuries and his strike rate is around 140. Samson is undoubtedly one of the best players to play for them; However, every good thing comes to an end one day, and so is Samson’s story with the royals.
Reportedly, Samson is moving to CSK ahead of the upcoming season, and the Super Kings have already wished him on his birthday through a social media post on Twitter. The post was captioned, “More strength to you, Sanju! Happy Birthday to you!”

Sanju Samson will strengthen CSK’s top order
The swap deal of Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja has been finalized, while Sam Curran will also move from CSK to Royals as part of the deal. The Royals have apparently strengthened their middle-order batting to support Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag.
Sam Curran also bowls a few overs of left-arm fast, as he is still remembered as England’s Player of the Tournament during the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup. However, CSK’s Sanju Samson deal seems to be more of a strategic decision as they aim to have another top-order option and a long-term successor to the experienced MS Dhoni.
Samson can be sent in the opening or at number. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre are at the third position along with the other two. These three batsmen can and have played both as openers and number one batsmen. 3 in IPL and their domestic teams.
Rajasthan Royals fans think birthday post is a ‘thank you’ post confirming Samson’s ouster
Rajasthan Royals also wished Sanju Samson on his birthday through an Instagram post. However, many Rajasthan Royals fans considered it a goodbye or thank you post for the cricketer who did so much for the Royals.
Some are hoping to get some clarity on the status of the Sanju-Jadeja-Curran trade deal between the two franchises, as nothing has been made official by either team yet. However it has been confirmed that the process has started, and it is only a matter of time, as the deal requires the ECB’s involvement.
